The Delight set by Alessi was created by designer Nika Zupanc and combines a sculptural form with elegant graphic decoration. The two porcelain cups are hand-decorated using an image transfer technique, with a motif of green and red segments on a white background, which is continued on the saucers. The slightly tapered shape of the cups helps to concentrate the aroma of the coffee, turning each cup into a small daily ritual. Nika Zupanc Zupanc was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she graduated with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. In 2008, she started her own design studio, which soon became known for objects that "do not oppose rationality, sobriety and pragmatism, to promote intuitiveness, eclecticism and intimacy", as she puts it. She collaborates with prestigious design companies, while also creating for her own brand. The international press has expressed interest in her work, describing it as "punk elegance" and "techno chic." Several of her projects have won awards.
